Parent Involvment Policy

It is the policy of PPEP TEC High School (PTHS) to involve parents, family and community members in the
planning, development and implementation of its continuous review and improvement of educational
programs. With this in mind, PPEP TEC High School will implement the following statutory requirements:

The PTHS Administration will operate programs, activities, and procedures for the involvement of
parents in all of its schools, especially in schools with Title I, Part A programs. Those programs, activities,
and procedures will be planned and operated with meaningful consultation with parents of participating
students.

The PTHS Administration will work with its schools to ensure that the required school-level parent
involvement policies meet the requirements of section 1118(b) of the ESEA, and include a school-parent
compact as a component.

This district wide parent involvement policy will be incorporated into the PTHS LEA Integrated Action
Plan. If the PTHS LEA ESSA Consolidated Plan is not satisfactory to parents of participating students, the
PTHS Administration will submit any parent comments with the plan when the plan is submitted to the
Arizona Department of Education.

In carrying out the Title I, Part A parent involvement requirements, PTHS will provide full opportunities
for the participation of parents with limited English proficiency, parents with disabilities, and parents of
migratory students, which will include providing information and summaries of school reports in an
understandable and uniform format in a language parents understand.

Through the PTHS ESSA Committee, the PTHS Administration will involve parents of students served in
Title I, Part A schools in decisions about how the 1% of Title I, Part A
funds reserved for parent involvement are spent, and will ensure that not less than 95% of the 1%
reserved goes directly to schools.

The PTHS Administration will ensure schools inform parents of the purpose and existence of the
Arizona Parent Information and Resource Center (PIRC).

PTHS will be governed by the following statutory definition of parent involvement, and will ensure its
Title I schools carry out programs, activities, and procedures in accordance with this definition:

parent involvement activities to improve student academic achievement and school performance. These

focuses on parent, family, and community involvement for parent liaisons, parents, and school staff.

Through the PTHS ESSA Committee, the PTHS Administration will conduct, with the involvement of
parents, an annual evaluation of the content and effectiveness of this parent involvement policy in
improving the quality of its Title I, Part A schools. The evaluation will include identifying barriers to
greater participation by parents in parent involvement activities, with particular attention to parents
who are economically disadvantaged, are disabled, have limited English proficiency, have limited
literacy, or are of any racial or ethnic minority background. The PTHS Administration will use the findings
of the evaluation about its parent involvement policy and activities to design strategies for more
effective parent involvement, and to revise as necessary and with the involvement of parents, its parent
involvement policies. The evaluation will be conducted annually at the end of each school year through:
